The Apex First Responder Training (FRT) is a government-recognized program by the Tamil Nadu Apex Skill Development Centre for Healthcare (TNASDCH), under the Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation. This course prepares you to be the first person on scene to provide life-saving assistance before professional medical help arrives.
What you will learn:
Scene Safety & Initial Assessment: Check for dangers, assess victim response.
Adult, Child & Infant CPR: Correct compression-to-ventilation ratio (30:2 for adults).
Choking Management: Back slaps and chest thrusts for conscious and unconscious victims.
Bleeding Control & Tourniquet Use: Direct pressure, elevation, and wound packing for traumatic injuries, including partial or complete limb amputation.
Medical Emergencies: Stroke (brain attack) recognition using FAST, hypoglycemia management (glucose or juice), heat exposure symptoms, and allergic reactions (Epinephrine injection awareness).
Poisoning & Bites: Snake bite first aid – do NOT cut or suck the wound; immobilize and transport immediately.
Practical Drills: Two-rescuer infant CPR (2 thumb encircling technique), recovery position, and AED awareness.
